Updated Rite Aid Coupon Policy

Unfortunately, I have a little bit of sad news to pass on. Yesterday, Rite Aid updated their coupon policy and it's no longer as great as it once was, in my opinion. You can see the updated policy under the Store Policy tab or by clicking here. I recommend printing this policy and keeping it with you in case you encounter any problems while checking out at Rite Aid.

Here are the main changes that sadden me:

Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item.

Buy One Get One Free coupons cannot be used in conjunction with a Buy One Get One Free promotion

Another change:

Rite Aid may accept up tor 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager's sole discretion

My May 22nd Walgreens Trip

Today I made a trip to 2 Walgreens stores because I didn't want to clear the shelves at 1 location; Although, both stores had way more than I expected them to have. Still, I like to spread my purchases around so as not to seem greedy.

Walgreens was the only store I shopped at this morning because, unfortunately, Rite Aid didn't have much in their ad to interest me and for CVS I had to order some coupons (they haven't come in yet). So, here's a breakdown of what I did today at Walgreens:

Transaction #1:
Purchase 1 Tone Body Wash on sale for $3.99
Use 1 $2/1 Tone Body Wash printable (no longer available)
Pay $1.99 plus tax
Get Back $3 RR

Transaction #2, #3, #4, #5, and #6:
Repeat Transaction #1

Total Out of Pocket: $11.94 plus tax
Total Value: $20.94
Total Savings: $9 or 43%
Rewards Remaining: $18 (6 - $3 RR)

In total I spent $11.94 and I have $18 in RR remaining! That's like making $6.06 to shop at Walgreens! And the great thing about RR is that I can use them at the Commissary to score free meat or produce (or anything really)!

Feel free to share how you did at Walgreens today in the comment section...

May 22nd Coupon Inserts

Tomorrow there will be 2 inserts in your paper.

1 Redplum
1 Smartsource

To see what'll be in the Redplum head on over here and for Smartsource go here.

Please remember that not all areas will get all of these coupons since they can be regional. Also values may differ as well

Note: Consider copying and pasting the list into a word document. Then tomorrow when you get your inserts go through the list changing values if necessary and removing the coupons you didn't get. Then print! This makes searching for coupons much easier as you can look at the list to see if you got it! :)

My Mailbox Goodies

This week my mailbox brought me lots of joy. I scored a coupon for a FREE Meal at Zaxby's by joining the Zax Mail Club. If you join you'll get a free meal and then another freebie every year during your birth month! There's no cost to join either!

I also received a FREE coupon for Purina Pro Plan Roasted Slices. Now, I'm going to be honest and let you know I've searched and searched but for the life of me I can't remember where I signed up for this :( I'm thinking I signed up for this before I started this blog.

I found a sample of Goodnights Underwear in my mailbox one day this week too! This is still available and can be found over here. I recommend getting this sample even if you don't need it. Surely you know someone who could really use this and if not then it's a great item to donate to a women's shelter or another charity!

Lastly, my favorite freebie arrived and that was a piece of chocolate! This came from the Kudzo's $5,000 curb appeal giveaway. I posted about it on 4/27 over here.

What mailbox goodies did you receive this week?

My May 16th Rite Aid Trip

Can I say that I absolutely LOVE Rite Aid? Because I do!!! I remember there was a time when I didn't want to shop at Rite Aid because I was scared of the their SCR program and I was already shopping at Walgreens and CVS. I thought keeping track of a 3rd drug store and the rewards would be too much. Oh, how I wish I would have started shopping there sooner! Rite Aid is now my absolute most favorite drug store to shop! If you have a Rite Aid close by and have been scared to try it, I encourage to give it a go. Just start small till you get comfortable. I'm sure you'll love it too!

Ok, now that I've gotten that out of my system (btw, I was not asked to write anything about Rite Aid nor am I being paid to do so) I'll share with you my deal for the day:

Purchase:
10 Bottles of Purex Laundry Detergent 50 oz. (33 loads) on sale for $1.97 = $19.70
Use
$3 off $15 purchase from completing a survey at the bottom of my receipt yesterday

Well, I've been needing trash bags for awhile, but every time I go to the store I forget to buy them. This happens because on my list I usually only write down what's on sale and my coupons. Since trash bags haven't been on sale, I've not had it on my list. However, today I took the trash out only to find I didn't have a single bag under the sink to use :(

So, I decided to run to Kroger again (thank goodness it's 30 seconds from my house) to pick these up since I knew I could use my $2 off my next purchase coupon at Kroger that I received earlier today.

I bought 1 package of 20 count Kroger 13 gallon trash bags on sale for $2.39.
Used: $2 off coupon plus I received 5% off for buying Kroger brand
Paid: $0.27 plus tax

Total out of pocket: $0.27 plus tax
Total Value: $2.99 plus tax
Total Savings: $2.72 or 91%

My May 15th Kroger Trip

Kroger has a *HOT* deal on Wisk this week. I suggest that if you're even slightly interested you head out now. Here's what I picked up on a quick run earlier today:

Purchase
4 Kroger 1/2 Gallon Milk on sale for $1 (may be a regional price) = $4.00
2 Wisk Laundry detergent 50 oz on sale for $3.99 = $7.98
Use:
2 $2/1 Wisk Hangtags found on the product (there's also $2/1 in the 5/15 RP - regional)
Pay: $7.98 plus tax
Get Back $4 off your next purchase (2 $2 for purchasing Wisk)

Total out of pocket: $7.98 plus tax
Total Value: $20.54
Total Savings: $12.56 or 61%

My May 15th Rite Aid Trips

Today was a fantastic day to shop at Rite Aid with lots of great deals to be found! I did a total of 4 transactions. Here's a break down of #1:

Purchase:
4 Ziploc storage bags on sale 2 for $4 = $8.00
2 Colgate 360 toothbrushes on sale for $2.99 = $5.98
1 Purex Laundry Detergent on sale for $1.97
Total: $15.95
Use:
$3 off $15 from last week
2 $1.25 off 2 Ziploc from the 4/3 SS or the 5/15 SS
2 $1 off Colgate 360 toothbrushes from the April or May All You Magazine
2 $4 +up rewards from a previous trip
Pay: $0.45 plus tax
Get back: $6 +ups (2 $2 from Colgate and 2 $1 from Ziploc)

Transaction #2 Looked like this:

Purchase
4 Crest Pro Health toothpaste 6.0 oz on sale for $2.99 = $11.96
1 Breathsaver mint on sale for .50
Total: $12.46
Use:
4 $1.50/1 Crest Pro Health from the 5/1 PG
1 $5 +up from last week
1 $1 +up from last week
Pay: $0.46 plus tax
Get back $4 +up (2 $2 for purchasing Crest)

Note: I should have only purchased 2 Crest toothpastes as it had a limit of 2, but sometimes I goof. I'll eat this mistake and donate the items to collection going on here in town for the Alabama and Georgia tornado victims.

Rimmel cosmetics are on sale buy 1 get 1 50% so, transaction #3 went like this:

Purchase
2 Rimmel 1000 kisses lip liner priced at $3.59 = $5.38 (due to getting 1 half off)
2 Rimmel eyeliners priced at $3.99 = $5.98 (due to getting 1 half off)
1 Rimmel eyeshadow priced at $5.19
Total: $16.55
Use
$3 off $15 purchase from last week
5 $2/1 printables (will need 3 computers)
1 $2 +up from transaction #1
1 $1 +up from transaction #1
Pay: $0.55 plus tax
Get Back $5 +up for spending $15 on Rimmel cosmetics

Transaction #4 was all about purchasing things that I'm in desperate need of and using Rite Aid money to pay for it. Here's the breakdown:

Purchase:
1 Vicks VaporRub 3.5 oz priced at $8.99
2 3-packs of Chapstick priced at $4.04 = $8.08
Total: $17.07
Use:
10% off coupon for reaching 125 pts with my wellness + card
2 $5 +ups (one from last week and one from transaction #3)
3 $2 +ups (from transactions 1 & 2)
1 $1 +up (from transaction 1)
Pay: - $0.83 plus tax (they paid me to purchase all of this!)

Note: I'm not sure why my total went negative at Rite Aid. As a rule the registers are programmed to not allow this. I think it has to do with using my 10% off coupon though.

Totals for the day:
Out of Pocket: $0.63 plus tax
Total Value: $81.40 plus tax
Total Savings $80.77 or 99%
Rewards Remaining: $0

In the end I think I did fantastic at Rite Aid. How'd you do?

Total: $26.96
Use
$5 off $25 purchase from an email CVS sent me

Note: If you have the Neutrogena printable coupon be sure to look for products priced at $7.99 or less to get the best value. My store was out of the $7.99 items so I settled for the next cheapest item.

Please share how you did at CVS this week.

*HOT* Wisk Deal at Kroger!

UPDATE: Unfortunately the $2 off Catalina ended on 5/15. So, if you go to Kroger to do this deal today or later this week you will NOT receive $2 off your next purchase.  (Thanks to my sister, Julie, for discovering this for me!)

Guys, I have an awesome deal for you! I went into my Kroger this morning to pick up Wisk Laundry Detergent on sale for $3.99. I used $2/1 hangtags found on the bottle and after my purchase was complete I recieved a $2 off my next in store purchase for EACH bottle I purchased! This essentially makes Wisk FREE!

Note: Some areas received $2/1 in the 5/15 RP

Once I finished up my errands today I stopped in at Publix. (Usually I shop at Publix on Thursdays, but since I knew I had to go out today I decided to put it off for a day.) Purchase:
4 - Bic Comfort3 Disposable Razors priced at $5.49 each. Used my raincheck from a couple weeks ago to get them for 2 for $5.49 = $10.98 minus 4 $3/1 from the 5/01 SS = - $1.02 (they paid me to purchase this)

2 - Krusteaz Crumb Cake at 2 for $2.79 = $2.79 (one of my guilty pleasures)

My May 8th Walgreens Trip

I wasn't thrilled with Walgreens ad this week either, but I have a TON of RR so I went in to grab a couple things. Here's what I was after:

Purchase:
1 Nexcare Bandages on sale for $2.99
1 Got2B Moose $5.99
2 easter candy clearance items (needed to fulfill coupon to item ratio)
Use:
1 $1 off 1 Nexcare Bandages printable
1 $2 off Got2B product from the April All You Magazine
1 $3 RR from last week
1 $2 RR from last week
Pay $1.22 plus tax and I can submit for a $2.99 nexcare bandage rebate found on the package

Total Out of Pocket: $1.22 plus tax
Total Value: $10.48
Rebates to submit: $2.99

Note: I kinda goofed again today. (In the couponing world it's easy to do.) I did not calculate my total prior to getting to the register and if I would have, I woulda noticed that I could have used 2 $3 RR to lower my out of pocket expense to $0.22. Oh well.....you can't win them all and honestly $1.22 isn't awful!
Also, I know that Got2B products are on sale buy 1 get 1 free over at Rite Aid. However, I only had 1 coupon for the product and I needed to use up a few RR so that's what I purchased it at Walgreens.

How'd you do at Wags? Please share in the comment section.

Feel free to share the deals you found!

My May 8th CVS Trip

There wasn't much in the CVS ad that I was interested in this week and what I was interested in I didn't have the right coupons for. Sometimes this happens and I don't let it get me down because I'm able to score so many deals with the coupons I have that it's ok to miss a few deals here and there! So anyway, my trip was a quick and easy one.

I purchased 1 Dulcolax Balance 14 dose on sale for $5.99
Used $3.00 off 1 printable   (there's also a $4/1 printable)
Used $3 off ANY Dulcolax coupon from the magic coupon machine (adjusted down to $2.99)

Weekly Finals

Today is Friday and I hope to start posting my weekly out of pocket costs along with total values and how many rewards are remaining.

Now I'm going to be honest and let you know that I spent way more out of pocket than I usually do. This is due to the fact that I ordered 100 waters at Kroger this week and I went to Publix 3 times to cash in on the gas card deal.

Grocery Store Totals (Includes Kroger & Publix):

Total out of pocket: $225.63 plus tax
Total Value: $627.41
Total Savings: $401. 78
And I have $150 in gas cards!
To see my Kroger trips go here. To see Publix go here, here, here, and here

Drug Store Totals (Includes CVS, Rite Aid, & Walgreens):

Total out of pocket: $22.83 plus tax
Total Value: $167.90
Total Savings: $145.07
And I have $48 remaining in ECB, RR, +up rewards, and SCR
To see my CVS trip go here. For Rite Aid go here and here. For Walgreens go here, here, and here

In total I spent $248.63 plus tax for $795.31 worth of grocery/drug store items. Like I said this is way more than I usually spend (which is normally about $50 or $60 a week), but I don't have to pay for gas for the next 3 months since I have $150 in gas cards that I purchased this week!

How'd you do this week? Please share in the comment section.

My May 6th, 2011 Publix Trip

Today had to be my best trip to Publix this week! I went in order to score another $50 gas card for $40 and score was what I did! Here's a break down of what I bought:

2 Bags of Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips priced at 2 for $8.49 = $8.49
1 Ex-Lax 8 ct priced at $2.29 = $2.29
1 Gas-X 10 ct priced at $2.49 = $2.49 minus $5 off 2 Gas-X/Ex-Lax products (mix & match) from the green flyer (store coupon) = - $2.51 (they paid me to take this home!)
2 Sominex Sleep Aids priced at $3.19 = $6.38 minus (2) $2 off 1 printables minus $5 off 2 Sominex products from the green flyer (store coupon) = -$2.62 (paid to take this home!)

4 1/2 dozen eggs at $0.75 each = $3.00 minus (4) .55 off 1 carton of eggs when you buy any kikkoman product from 1/23 RP or the Feb. All You magazine= $0.80
1 $50 Shell gas card = $50 minus $10 wyb $25 in grocery items from the weekly ad = $40

Total out of pocket: $46.01 plus tax

I'm thrilled to have a gas card valued at $50 and I paid less than $50 total! It doesn't get much better than that!

My 5/05/11 Walgreens Trip

Ok, I went to Walgreens again today to score more FREE bodywash. I am fortunate enough to have 4 Walgreens, 2 Publix stores, 3 Krogers, 5 CVS stores, and 2 Rite Aids all within a 15 min drive of my house. So, it's very easy to drive past a drug store on my way to one of the grocery stores. Since I was heading out to Publix today I decided I might as well use another coupon before the sale ends.

2 Right Guard Body Washes on sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free

Total Out of Pocket: $0.00 plus tax

My 5/04/11 Kroger Trips

Well, I'm going to let you know that yesterday I made 2 trips to Kroger. I don't typically do this, but when I was looking over the ad on Sunday I noticed that the 3 liter water bottles were on sale for .49 wyb 10 participating items. Honestly, I'm a water snob and will not drink it out of the faucet and I only like certain brands. So, when I saw the .49 price I ran to Kroger on Sunday and ordered 100 (yes, 100) bottles! They came in yesterday so I had to go pick them up.

The picture above is of my first trip. Here's a breakdown of what I did:

Purchase
7 Kraft BBQ Sauces at .49 each wyb 10 = $3.43
3 Deerpark Waters at .49 wyb 10 = $1.47
5 SunnyD Juices at .89 wyb 10 = $4.45 minus (5) .55 off 1 printable (no longer available) = $1.70
2 Haribo Gold Gummy Bears at $1 = $2.00 minus (2) .30 off 1 printable (doubles to .60) = .80
4 Freschetta Simply Inspired Pizzas at $4.49 wyb 10 = $17.96 minus (4) $2 off 1 printables = $9.96
4 Mom's Best Organic Cereal at .99 wyb 10 = $3.96 minus (4) .75 off 1 printables = .96
1 Boulder Canyon Potato Chips at .99 wyb 10 = .99 minus $1 off 1 printable = -$.01 (they paid me to buy them)
26 boxes of Ronzoni pasta (includes varieties Healthy Harves, SmartTaste, and Garden Delights) at .49 wyb 10 = $12.74 minus (13) $1 off 2 Ronzoni printables or printables = -$0.26 (they paid me to take these out of the store)

Total out of pocket: $17.50 plus tax
Total Value: $113.38 plus tax

On my 2nd trip I visited the Kroger closest to my home (it's a small store so I don't do major trips there) where I had ordered the 100 bottles of water. I have no pic of these items because to be honest loading and unloading 100 bottles of water wore me out! Here's a breakdown of trip #2:

Purchase
100  3-Liter bottles of DeerPark Water at .49 each wyb 10 = $49.00
2 Kraft BBQ Sauces at .49 each wyb 10 = .98
4 Ivory Body Washes at $1 each = $4.00 minus (4) $1 off 1 from the 5/01 PG = $0.00
18 Boxes of Ronzoni pasta at .49 each wyb 10 (includes varieties Healthy Harves, SmartTaste, and Garden Delights) at .49 wyb 10 = $8.82 minus (9) $1 off 2 Ronzoni printables or printables = -$0.18 (they paid me to take these out of the store)
4 Boxes of Kim & Scott's Pretzel at $1.49 wyb 10 = $5.96 minus (4) $1 off 1 printables = $1.96

1 Red Baron Pan Pizza at $4.49 wyb 10 = $4.49 minus $1 off 1 from the 3/27 SS = $3.49

Total out of pocket: $55.21 plus tax
Total Value: $204.67

For both trips to Kroger I spent $72.71 plus tax for $318.05 worth of grocery itesms

My 5/04/11 Walgreens Trip

While I was out yesterday I made a quick trip to Walgreens where I purchased:

4 Right Guard Body Washes on sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free
Use 2 Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupons from the 5/1 RP
 Pay Tax Only!!!!

Total Out of Pocket: $0.00 plus tax
 Total Value: $17.96 plus tax

My 5/04/11 Publix Trip

Yesterday was a crazy busy day for me so I wasn't able to update my blog. However, I did make it to Publix, Kroger, and Walgreens. Here's the breakdown of what happened at Publix:

Purchased 2 Kraft Miracle Whips at 2 for $4.39 minus $1 off 2 from the 4/10 SS = $3.39
Purchase 1 Whole Fruit Sorbet at 2 for $2.99 minus .50 off 1 from the 3/27 RP (doubles to $1) = .50
Purchase 6 Yoplait Smoothie kits at 2 for $3.19 minus (4) $1 off 1 printables = $5.57
Purchase 5 Tidy Cat Litters at 2 for $2.39 minus (4) $1.10 off 1 printables or printable = $1.58
Purchase 1 Sundown B6 Vitamins 150 ct at $3.59 minus $1 off 1 from the 3/20 RP minus $3 off 1 publix coupon from the green flyer (found at the front of the store) = -$0.41 (they paid me to take it home)
Purchase 1 $50 gas card minus $10 off a $50 gas card wyb (when you buy) $25 in groceries (before coupons) = $40

Total out of pocket: $50.63 plus tax
Total Value: $96.39

Note: I I had 2 additional coupons for the Smoothies (so 6 total) and 1 more for the cat litter (so 5 total) for an additional $3.10 off my total. However, my Publix coupon policy states that you can only use 4 like coupons in a shopping trip when you're purchasing Buy One Get One Free deals. They do this so people don't clear the shelves. With that said I've never had a cashier turn away 5 or 6 like coupons in the past (that was until yesterday). I couldn't argue with the cashier since I knew that was the policy. However, I do wish he would have told me prior to ringing up every item and having them all bagged (He went through every coupon prior to ringing me up). If I would have known he was going to turn away 3 of my coupons I wouldn't have purchased those 3, but I would have found 3 other items I could have used coupons on. I was mainly trying to reach the $25 mark to get my $10 free on the gas card. Oh, well! In reality it still worked out well as I spent $50.63 and the gas card alone is $50 so it's like getting everything else for $0.63!

My 5/01/11 Publix Trip

While I was out today I made a quick trip over to Publix to hoping to find a few items that were out of stock on my last trip. Unfortunately the mens razors were still out of stock so I had to get a raincheck for those. Here's what I did get though:

Purchase 10 ears of corn on sale for $0.25 each
Purchase 4 - Jose Ole frozen items on sale 2 for $4.99
Use: 4 - $2 off 1 Jose Ole item printable (no longer available)
Pay $4.48 plus tax
Total Value: $26.54

My 5/01/11 CVS Trip

Unfortunately CVS was kinda of a let down this week. But I still made a trip to get my moneymaking toothpaste and a couple other things. Check out my transactions below:

Transaction #1:
Purchase 2 - Colgate MaxFresh Toothpaste on sale for $2.77 each
Use 1 - $1 off 1 coupon from the May All You magazine
Use 1 - $0.75 off 1 Colgate coupon in the 5/01 SS
Use $1 ECB from last week
Pay $2.79 plus tax
Get Back $6.54 in ECB ($5.54 for buying 2 toothpastes and $1 for using my green bag tag for the 4th time)

Transaction #2:
Purchase 2 - Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2 packs on sale for $3 each
Purchase 1 - Cascade Powder Dishwashing Detergent at $4.99
Use 1 - $1.50 off 2 Mr Clean products in the 5/01 PG
Use 1 - $1 off 1 Cascade from the $110 P&G coupon booklet previously available
Use $6.54 in ECBs from Transaction #1
Pay: $1.95 plus tax

Now here's where things were messed up a bit. I accidentally purchased the wrong Cascade item and because of that my ECB's didn't print. Once the cashier and I looked over why they didn't print we realized my error. I went to see if they had the correct Cascade item and the store didn't have it so I asked if I could return everything. That's when my cashier said she'd just go ahead and print my $3 ECB since I'm so friendly when I shop with her, which I thought was incredibly sweet and nice of her.

Total Value: $18.35 plus tax
Total Out of Pocket: $4.74 plus tax
And I have $3 in ECBs for my next visit to CVS
